I assume this is in attempts to get people to keep playing so the inner circle running the scene can continue to make profit off of Diablo 2. Certain people, the same small group, getting away with mass duping for decades.

The dupes fuel real world currency profit for the inner circle. D2jsp actually destroys ladder competition, but not ladder economy. Currency is currency genius, items are items.

And what makes a currency a currency? What makes that piece of paper in your wallet a currency and not just a piece of paper? Yes scams exist but anyone who knows better knows about them all… some fall victim sadly i never had a problem just learned from getting scamed , played the game found my own stuff.

Dude… on jsp people help each other to NOT get scammed, even noobs. If some neckbeard wants to spend their paycheck on runewords let them. Also: Which government has adopted Cowry shells as their currency? What about BitCoin? True, point taken. But they did so after it was already used as a currency for years. If the FG was limited to non-ladder, that would make a large difference. The comparison to speeders doesn't work too well as speeders increase their own likelihood of death whereas d2jsp only benefits its users.

JSP is a group of individuals with a shared interest in gaming, a community. FG is forum currency that those players have decided to use or not to use, JSP is free. Yeah you're right — the FG is the main point of concern. There has been other shadiness associated with the site, though. Additionally, even if I traded only items and runes, I'd still be part of the problem as those items could be sold for FG and then that FG could be used in another ladder.

I have used d2jsp as a source for some builds, but don't have an account. So I do appreciate the coming together of thoughts and people discussing items, viability etc. I have nothing against people using it to link up for runs and discuss. There are other ways to do this now though as social media has come a long way.

It is now more easy than ever to move away from d2jsp. I won't hold grudges against people having used FG etc. I had only good experiences there so i'll reside my [powerless] judgements on things that have actually impacted me.
